My boyfriend Kerem has such a sweet tooth, he needs dessert at least once a day. Usually he gets one of those huge double chocolate chunk cookies from Starbucks that they promote as “A large buttery, chewy cookie loaded with premium chocolate chunks”. As a caring girlfriend who blogs about healthy nutrition, I feel obliged to serve him a healthy alternative that makes him equally happy.

Requirements were simple: it should be yummy, healthy and taste of chocolate. I have been experimenting in my kitchen for a while and I came up with these fine happiness pralines. As you will see from the ingredients I used, they are super healthy and packed with protein.

The great thing is that not only Kerem loved them. His mother, sister and daughter as well as my kids liked these happiness balls. Noah even helped me making them.

INGREDIENTS

1 1/2 Cups Oatmeal

4 Tablespoons Ground Flax Seeds

1 Cup Double Roasted Hazelnuts

1/2 Cup Shredded Pistachio

1 Cup Chocolate Whey Powder

10 Mejdol Dates

3 Tablespoons Coconut Oil

1/2 Cup Water

FILLING

1/2 Cup Double Roasted Hazelnuts

COATING

1/2 Cup Shredded Pistachio

DIRECTIONS:

1. Place oatmeal, ground flax seeds, hazelnuts and pistachio into a blender and process until all the nuts are finely chopped.

2. Pour mixture into a big bowl and add the protein powder.

3. If you blend the dates together with the coconut oil and water, the blender will be easily able to process it until smooth and creamy.

4. Stir the liquid under the oatmeal until the mixture sticks together.

5. Knead the dough with your fingers.

6. Put the paste into the fridge to cool for half an hour.

7. Form little balls and press one hazelnut into each of them.

8. Roll the pralines in the shredded pistachio.

Enjoy with your beloved ones. Those balls should keep them away from double chocolate chunk cookies!
