The World's best Smoothies!
When you don't feel like chewing or sitting down, a smoothie on the go may be just what you are looking for.
I am not a big fan of fruit juices because the whole peel and pulp is discarded and they are most rich in minerals, vitamins and fibre. But I think smoothies are great because you use the whole fruit.
I wouldn’t say Zoe is grumpy in the morning, but she doesn’t fancy anything except for pancakes or milk rice. She does like smoothies though because she loves the little bottle I fill it into and she is grateful to slurp breakfast from a straw instead of having to chew it bite for bite.
But smoothies are not only a good solution for my daughter. They are also perfect for me and my boyfriend when we don’t have time to sit down and have breakfast sometimes. I simply fill the smoothie in an XL-size bottle and tuck it into my bag so I can drink it on the way or wherever I go.
Here are Zoe’s and my favourite smoothie recipes. I calculated them for two portions each. I suggest you do the full amount and store one in the fridge. They stay fresh for two days without problem.
Zoe’s Smoothie:
1 ripe banana
3 large blue plums
1.5 glass of milk
1/2 level teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 Glass of ice cubes
Doris’ Smoothie:
1 ripe banana
1/4 avocado
1 Kiwi
1 thick slice of fresh pineapple
1 handful kale
1 Glass of ice cubes
